Cars of the West Village: Land Cruisin'

I've spotted this car before on West 10th Street last spring, but when I saw it on my street last weekend I just had to give it another photoshoot.  Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of SUVs, but I can appreciate good design and a terrific color when I see it.

In a neighborhood of (beautiful) German automobiles like Audi, BMW, and Porsche, this one stands out against the crowd.  Glad I took the pictures when I did - it was gone within a day.

More pictures are available on my Flickr page.

  1. I noticed this the other day also. Beautiful monster.

There's a red one that often parks on W 11th near the 11th St. Cafe. Newer model, minus the "go to hell" tires, it's not quite as fun to look at as this, but worth a nod. This thing is gorgeous. Utilitarian before utilitarian was cool.

  2. I like that ... "beautiful monster."

I think I know the Red one you are talking about... I saw it driving today down West 11th. Can't put my finger on it but these land cruisers fit in so well in this neighborhood, even though they clearly stick out.
